Hello! I’m Kirin Bhatti.

My name translates to “a ray of divine light”. I come from a long lineage of earth-based Punjabi mystics, artists and entrepreneurs. Cancer sun, Cancer moon, Scorpio rising - intense astro placements indeed that move mountains through beauty, wonder and gentleness.

I carry my ancestral and cosmic lineage forward as a playful student, artist and servant of the earth, flowers, and transformation.

At Brownswell, I nurture a community of justice-led spiritually gifted leaders. Those of you who carry that “this ends with me” or “there’s gotta be another way” kind of vibe - building lives and impact that defy the odds of what you were told was possible.

If that’s you and you’re also feeling you’re working harder than you need to, or perhaps you have untapped gifts and instincts that are having to hide or bend to make it all work, you’re in the right place.

Together we learn from the earth, seasons and each other how to untangle the subtle ways you’re still over-working by contorting your own nature so you can embody the life, relationships and systems change your soul came here for.

How did I get here?

Growing up , I was not aware of my mystical gifts or that I came from an energetically powerful lineage. The impacts of colonialism and patriarchy moved through my lineage in ways that obscured the gifts in my bloodline. They were not named, nurtured, or reflected back to me - at least not in a way I could conciously recognize as a child, leaving me consumed with intense emotion and sensation I was told to control.

Regardless, I knew on some level what was happening in me was not something to temper. I played the part of a good immigrant child while secretly drawn to matters of the spirit, keen to transform the injustice of our world, and enchanted with the beauty of flowers. From a young age I would sit at the Gurdwara with family asking, "If our religion says we are all equal why do men and women sit on opposite sides of the temple?"

As an adult, still unaware of my gifts, I began a career as a teacher, non-profit worker, government worker keen to support systems change, while voraciously hungry to explore my own healing. I would attend spiritual retreats and trainings in my spare time, often the only person of color in attendance, asking "How do I use manifestation to dismantle Racism?". In my activist circles I wondered how to dismantle white supremacy with joy and beauty.

Othered at home and in the world, I’ve always lived in the margins. A place where you see things most don't.

On my path towards healing and becoming a guide I ached to find teachers that could help me understand how to navigate the deep nuanced edge waters of our world and myself. The oceanic shelf where familiar turquoise blue waters of privileged self help, tradition or rigid activism fell off into a deep abyss.

My senses and a community of QTBIPOC soul friends asking the same questions became my teachers. After years working across education, government, and social sectors, I began to notice the invisible: how fixing, shame, urgency, repressed gifts, unprocessed pain from the trauma of imperialism silently fuel the way we work, lead, and relate. I couldn’t unsee it. I knew the kind of change I longed to be part of had to go deeper, into our bodies, our souls, our lineages, our ecosystems of care.

I sensed I knew how to guide that transformation, and listened to that sense, starting Brownswell.

As I decided to begin Brownswell I
serendipitously found a gifted
teacher, Shayne Case, who helps medicine keepers remember their medicine. Under Shayne’s apprenticeship I remembered what I already knew:

I am a ray of divine light.

At Brownswell, I create ritual containers of beauty, rest, wonder, and connection that help you alchemize what you’ve been holding to survive, so you can embody who you were always meant to be.
